Restrictions Updated

Penn State University Archives item list restrictions have been updated.  I reviewed 65,000 records and removed over 10% of all restrictions.

Remember when a file does show a restriction, please ask the Unit Head for permission BEFORE allowing a patron to use this material.

Printer on the fritz?

The printer at the terminal facing the scanner does not print a slip when a book is charged. Is anyone else having problems with it?

Student Verification Requests

If anyone receives a patron request wanting to confirm when a student attended PSU, please have them contact the Registrar's Office.

The Registrar's Office wants to handle these requests to make sure that the information is accurate about the student.  For example, they may have attended but didn't graduate, they do not want them to receive credit for graduating when they did not.

The person whom they can contact is Dona Oberheim 863-3691.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Missing Daily Collegian Volumes

Diane Kurtz, Preservation, has removed Vols. 103-139, 1978-1987 Bound Daily Collegians from the Reference Room to have them digitized as part of the Digital Historical Collegian Project.

We anticipate their return no later than April 2007.

Book in On-Hold Room

I've put the book Leather Books: An Illustrated Handbook by Karli Frigge in the On-Hold Room for Jason Rossitto. He requested that I cut the unopened pages in it so he could read it. He should be coming to look at it this week sometime. Thanks, Lee G.
